England vs. Costa Rica: The Three Lions Send Croatia a Stern Warning Ahead of the 2026 World Cup
PELANGI4D – The England national team won 3-0 over the Costa Rica national team in a friendly match ahead of their participation in the 2026 World Cup at the Inter&Co Stadium in Florida, Thursday (11/06/2026) early morning WIB.
The England national team dominated possession throughout the match. However, they struggled to penetrate Costa Rica’s layered defense.
England launched numerous attacks on Costa Rica’s defense, but they only managed three goals through Declan Rice , Anthony Gordon , and Ollie Watkins .
This was England’s second consecutive win. Previously, they had defeated New Zealand 1-0.
This victory will undoubtedly provide crucial capital for England ahead of the 2026 World Cup and serve as a stern warning to the Croatian national team . Luka Modric and his teammates will be England’s first opponents in Group L.

Entering the second half, England didn’t let up their attack at all and immediately threatened the opponent’s goal through Madueke’s individual effort in the 48th minute. After receiving a beautiful long pass from Kane, Madueke’s curling shot unfortunately sailed just wide of the Costa Rica goal.
A barrage of attacks from the Three Lions sparked panic in the opposition’s defense as the match entered the 66th minute. The referee pointed to the penalty spot without hesitation after Eberechi Eze’s on-target shot was illegally blocked by Araya with his hand inside the penalty area.
Anthony Gordon, entrusted with the penalty kick in the 68th minute, executed it perfectly. His powerful shot sailed into the top left corner of the net, beating Madrid’s goalkeeper to double England’s lead to two goals-nil.
In the 76th minute, Morgan Rogers nearly added to her team’s tally, but her shot from Eze’s perfect pass went wide. However, England’s persistent attack, continuing to pound the Costa Rican defense, finally paid off in the 87th minute.
Starting from Rogers’ rebounding shot, which the goalkeeper couldn’t keep out, Ollie Watkins swiftly headed home the rebound to score the third goal. After several final chances from Watkins and Rogers in stoppage time were thwarted, the referee blew the final whistle to confirm England’s 3-0 victory over Costa Rica.
